Informative Speech

I did my informative speech on sleep apnea. I feel like I was just as nervous as I was for the first speech and will always be nervous whenever I have to do public speaking. I had more eye contact through out this speech than my last speech but still could look up more. When I do look up I need to look all around the room and not just look up to my friends or at a certain spot. I need to use more enthusiasm in my voice instead of having the same boring tone through out the whole thing.I also need to use hand gestures to make my speech more interesting. Just standing there swaying back and forth was boring to watch. My voice level needs to be a little louder and I think I only stumbled a few times through out my whole speech. I had a good conclusion in which I explained why I chose my topic but my beginning hook could have been more intense and interesting. In my next speech I need to have more eye contact, use a louder voice, be more enthusiastic and use hand gestures.

brown bag speech review

I was very nervous for my first speech in humor and satire. Even though I practiced before I still froze up when I got up there in front of the class. I looked down all the time, never having eye contact with the audience. I played with my jewelry which was a distraction to the audience. I could have used a louder voice and not mumble like I did throughout some of the speech. I've never done well with public speeching but hopefully I will improve.

Reversal

In a Spongebob episode the theme of the show is opposite day. Spongebob and Patrick try to look and act like Squidward so therefore it is an example of reversal.
Cagle Cartoons

This is an example of visual satire because it is a political cartoon that shows different views about our President.

Malapropism

"Listen to the blabbing brook." Norm Crosby

This is a form of malapropism because blabbing brook is substituted for babbling brook resluting in something that doesn't make sense.
